A few reasons; because torrents are higher speed (on that torrent I downloaded at over 1mbps when I tested it for you), because rapidshare has recently put crazy restrictions on their accounts which has led to many uploaders choosing different websites (so new content is becoming harder to get on rapidshare), because server downloads are much easier for authorities to catch you with than torrents, because by using torrents you are helping other people like yourself get that content at the same time if you choose to. Basically with a good and properly configured torrent program and router configuration torrents are much better. Use usenet instead of rapidshare if you are against torrents, everything is on usenet (that is where the torrentand rapidshare content comes from 90% of the time, people get it from usenet servers then make torrents/upload to rapidshare, megaupload, etc.)

All about the router configuration. Yeah my connection seems to cap at about 1.2mbps but that's ok they did a crap job on the building networking. When I had cable internet I could get over 2mbps. But 1.2 is fast enough anyway, there aren't many things that are big enough to take a long time to download at that speed, and certainly not things one would download regularly.

Holy shit!!!!!!! Dam you aussies!!! My upload caps at 20kbps but generally sits at 10kbps!!! The fastest I've ever downloaded something was using flashget (Not a torrent) were I managed to get to 1mbps for a full 3 seconds!!! Wewt! But apart from that, never over 700kbps lol.

Well since I have never gotten over 100kbs on a torrent (seldom get over 50) I'll stick with other methods, say though, if you had the CS4 installers, I'd love to try the gmail thing with you, see if it works
Flashget the firefox extension? Pretty cool

Well I'm with a company called ICONZ at the moment, uncapped speeds. And before that I was on cable with TelstraClear.
