    >Computer problem<
I recently bought a netbook off a friend and I need to reformat it, the problem is that it doesn't have a CD/DVD/Bluray drive so I can't use the disc, it's running winxp and I have an EHD I can use if I need to.

    Ideas?

Try searching for "windows usb installer" in google. It's easy for Ubuntu but I'm not sure about windows :(

Prepare to filter through a lot of bs sites...

    CP TO THE RESCUE!

I'm afraid the only way to install Windows on the netbook is to acquire an external DVD drive. I can go into more detail but I won't here.

The method I will list here is used to install Ubuntu on a computer without an EDD.

The reason I say that you should use Ubuntu on this netbook is because you said you were going to use it for watching TV. I also assume you will be doing internet browsing, possibly Xfire or IMing. Possibly running old, non resource-demanding windows programs or games. All of these things can be done on Ubuntu. You might even get a slightly extended battery life too.

Anyways, the things that you will need are a USB flash drive 2GB or bigger and a computer running Windows.

    1. Go into the BIOS settings panel on the netbook. Make sure that USB is at the top of the boot drive priority list.
    2. Download the latest Ubuntu ISO image from here.
    3. Download pendrivelinux from here.
    4. Format the USB drive. Run pendrivelinux and follow the prompts to install the image onto the USB drive.
    5. Boot the netbook from the USB flash drive.
    6. Install Ubuntu onto the HDD. You will prompted to format the netbook's HDD during this process.

    inb4 another linux post.
